Kingdom Family Devotional byTony Evans & Jonathan Evans

Do you still pray every night with your family?  Do you still gather your kids around and read the Bible and say family prayers?  In the old days it was called family devotions or the family altar.  It's sad to say, but today, what used to be common in Christian homes is now a thing of the past.
While America may have forgotten the family altar, and the morals are showing the effects of that, the family altar is still a much needed thing in our society.  The old saying is still true - "The family that prays together stays together."
Tony Evans and his son, Jonathan, have worked together to write a 365 devotional for families.  It is very unique in that it contains 52 themes, 1 for each week.  And then on each day, there is a separate devotional about that theme.  Each devotional contains different features that include anything from scriptures to memorize, activities to do(such as go around the room and tell each family member something you appreciate about them), games to play, ect.
Done in the very descriptive, down to earth style that Tony Evans is known for, this devotional is great for families with kids of all ages.  We've enjoyed the discussions that it encourages, the lessons that it teaches, and the way that is always points the family back to God.
Overall, this is a great devotional for families to help them get back in the habit of family devotions.  And really, who said family devotions had to be boring?  They can be fun, exciting, times of discussion, learning, and growing closer to each other and God.  Tony Evans gives us a great resource in helping our families do all of that.
I would like to thank Tyndale Publishing for allowing me to review this book.  I did receive this book in exchange for my honest review.  And guess what?  It's really good!

God Bless,

Marcus
