Alone Yet Not Alone - Book Review

Alone Yet Not Alone is the story of a family who move from Germany to the mountains of Central Pennsylvania.  At that point in time, Central Pennsylvania was nothing more than a wilderness.  Neighbors were few and far between.  Life was hard, but good until trouble with the Indians occur.  The girls of the Leininger family are kidnapped during what it called The Penn's Creek Massacre.
The author of the book, Tracy Leininger Craven, did a great job writing this true story.  I think what makes it even more effective is to know that the author is a descendant of the family in this story.  The story  has a Little House on the Prairie feel to it.  It's an exciting, scary(to my 9 year old), and fascinating(to my 6 year old) look at something that really happened just outside of Sealinsgrove, Pa.
I would recommend this book to any family.  It's well written and great history.   The emphasis is on family, faith in God, and the sacrifice it took to make America the country it is. In the next few months, a movie based on the book, is scheduled to come out.  So check it out.  It's a really great book, and I'm sure the movie will be awesome!

God Bless,

Marcus
