The Gaither Homecoming Bible -reviewed by Mandy
The Gaither Homecoming Bible uses the New King James Version. It includes devotionals written by many well-known Southern Gospel artists. Each devotional includes a picture of the artist which helps those who may not be as familiar with the different names. The contributors include Ronnie Booth, Kim Collingsworth, Jeff and Sheri Easter, Rodney Griffin, Mark Lowry and many others. This Bible also features the stories behind the writing of some familiar hymns and gospel songs, and also the stories behind many of the songs that the Gaither’s themselves wrote. There are also quotes, inspirational writings and poems interspersed throughout the Bible text. The text print is comfortably easy to read and there are pleasantly colored landscape, sunset/sunrise picture borders on many pages. There are also footnotes included for ease of understanding certain verses or for clarifications of text translation. This Bible also includes pages in the front for family tree entries. The back pages of the Bible include a special 60 day reading plan through the Bible.
I was excited to receive my copy of this Bible and wasn’t disappointed. I enjoyed reading the devotionals. Many artists shared personal stories that illustrated heartfelt truths. The quotes and articles placed throughout the text were very thought provoking. This is a great Bible for any Southern Gospel music lover, especially those who collect the Gaither Homecoming Series DVDs.
*I received a copy of this Bible from Booksneeze.com in return for my review.*
